At a time when over two-thirds of Indonesians have never checked their blood sugar or cholesterol, PT Djembatan Dua is taking an initiative toward shifting the nation’s mindset from reactive to preventive care.

Through its Argon Peduli initiative, the company provided free health screenings to over 800 residents in Yogyakarta—measuring key indicators like blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol—to raise awareness and enable early detection of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

PT Djembatan Dua participated in a public health screening event for the sixth time this year, held at Alun-Alun Kidul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday, June 22, 2025. This initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to raising public awareness about the importance of regular health checks for the early detection of chronic diseases.

Management team from PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries also took part as volunteers in the event. Among those present were Mr. Setyawan Pantja Juwono, Operations Director of PT Anugrah Argon Medica (AAM); Mrs. Ruth Retno Dewi, Director of PT Karsa Inti Tuju Askara (KITA); and Mrs. Kansy Widiarty, Commercial Director of PT Djembatan Dua (DD). The management team actively supported on-site operations and engaged with the public by providing basic health education to emphasize the importance of preventive care.

“PT Medela Potentia Tbk and its subsidiaries are present in Yogyakarta to conduct community health screenings aimed at promoting preventive action against chronic diseases, which remain prevalent in Indonesia. We are grateful for the enthusiasm shown by the people of Yogyakarta, which demonstrates growing awareness of the importance of regular health checks,” said Mr. Setyawan.

To ensure accuracy in screening results, PT Medela Potentia Tbk collaborated with a global medical device principal to supply high-precision medical equipment. This collaboration, led by its subsidiary PT Djembatan Dua, is part of the company’s strategic initiative to promote the adoption of modern medical technology in Indonesia.

“PT Djembatan Dua, as a leading medical device marketing company, is committed to supporting the public’s need for accurate diagnostic tools. Measurement accuracy is critical, as it directly affects disease diagnosis. We ensure that all distributed devices are registered with the Indonesian Ministry of Health and meet high standards of precision,” stated Mrs. Kansy Widiarty.

PT Medela Potentia Tbk also introduced GoApotik, a trusted digital pharmacy aggregator managed by PT KITA, during the event. This platform aims to enhance convenience and access to quality healthcare products and services during and after the screening.

GoApotik enables users to easily access a wide range of trusted health products, medicines, and medical devices, as well as online consultation services—adding value for those looking to manage their health independently.

“GoApotik offers convenience for those seeking preventive solutions such as vitamins and supplements, or medications for hypertension, cholesterol, and diabetes. Users can upload prescriptions or consult directly through Dkonsul, our digital teleconsultation platform, which adheres to standards set by the National Food and Drug Authority (BPOM),” explained Mrs. Ruth.

According to the company’s internal data from 2024, hypertension was the most frequently detected condition, accounting for 44.4% of all screenings, followed by high cholesterol (38.8%) and high blood glucose levels (10.9%). These findings highlight the critical need for public education and early detection efforts as strategies to reduce the burden of chronic illnesses in Indonesia.

This aligns with data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s free health check program conducted between February and April 2025, which found that 20.9% of adults over the age of 18 suffered from hypertension, while 5.9% had diabetes.

In addition, the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) revealed that among individuals aged 15 and above, 67% had never checked their blood glucose levels, 67.2% had never tested their total cholesterol, and 37% had never had their blood pressure measured—underscoring the low awareness around early detection of non-communicable diseases.

President Director of PT Medela Potentia Tbk, Mr. Krestijanto Pandji, emphasized that the screening initiative aligns with the national health transformation agenda. The company affirms its role as a strategic partner in promoting a preventive, inclusive, and technology-driven healthcare model.

“We believe that a pentahelix approach—involving collaboration between the government, academia, businesses, civil society, and the media—is key to improving public health outcomes in Indonesia,” he stated.

“Health screening is a vital preventive step, especially in light of the rising trend of non-communicable diseases in our communities. Through Argon Peduli, we aim to raise awareness and strengthen public commitment to early detection and long-term health management,” concluded Mr. Krestijanto Pandji.
